Smelt Mill is owned by the Bowland Pennine Mountain Rescue Team which is a registered charity No. 511072. Funds generated from the hire charges are used to maintain and develop the Smelt Mill Training Centre and further the interests of the Mountain Rescue Team. Our Vision is:

“To provide a high quality, specialised residential centre to support the Bowland Pennine Mountain Rescue Team in its voluntary work and offer a facility to community and education groups in their learning and experience of the outdoors”.
