Situated in the heart of the Trough of Bowland, Smelt Mill is an amalgam of 4 cottages originally built in the 19th Century.
It has been used by the Team for over 40 years and gradually converted to a specialist Mountain Rescue Base, including accommodation for visiting groups and team members undertaking training.
It is the result of countless hours of voluntary work by past and present members of the team and, as such, represents one of the team’s most valuable (and valued) assets.
